Although Cinderellas mother seems to be dead, it is she who holds the most power  at bottom the story. Her mother, using her  sorcerous powers, is constantly in a  rival to overpower and  pass over all forces that are against Cinderella, whether it be Cinderellas stepmother and stepsisters plans to hold her back, or th   e prince trying to identify who she really is.   In Cinderella stories, Cinderellas mother has always presumably been good, and her stepmother appears to be evil. The fact that most  bombard to realize, as pointed by the author, is that these  twain mothers want the same things: they  twain want the best future for their daughters, and both mothers are will to do anything to ensure that it happens. It is, however, Cinderellas mother who surpasses and comes in  commencement place.  Panttaja believes Cinderella succeeds in winning the princes hand at the  orchis not because of the goodness of her character,  simply because she was able to stay  incorruptible to her mother. By doing this her mother rewards her by giving her the most  pretty-pretty appearance in the  perfect kingdom. Cinderella succeeds through her mothers magic, deceit, lies, and disguises.  In terms of the prince, it is Cinderellas mother who ultimately decides which  daughter in the kingdom he should choose.
